Families who will thrive here.
Admission is governed by our Admissions Policy, as outlined in the School's Terms and Conditions. In the Houses the family is the applicant as much as the child. Successful applicants are typically those who will thrive within the Ardee environment and engage fully with the opportunities Ardee offers, and who will make a constructive contribution to the School community.
For a child aged 8 months to 6 years, this means a family that shares the House's respect for the child's independence, that values consistency between home and school, and that wishes to take part in the community of the House.
Timings by Environment
Each environment follows a carefully considered structure of the day, designed to support the developmental needs of that stage while allowing real, uninterrupted concentration.
The day is built around a long, uninterrupted work cycle, long enough for a child to choose, begin, complete and put away a piece of work without being asked. It includes practical life, sensorial and cultural work, language and mathematics, movement and outdoor time, and a supervised meal break. After-school enrichment in Art and Design, Music and Movement, Montessori Sports and Literature Appreciation is optional and follows the main day.
Dressed for the Day
The Ardee uniform reflects the character of the House. The deep Ardee Blue and Ardee Red represent its guiding principles: balance and harmony, purpose and commitment, knowledge and integrity.
Children, mentors and staff wear the prescribed uniform each day, fostering a strong sense of community, equality and pride in belonging to the House.
